These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your purchase and use of After the Storm Recovery Ltd.’s online courses and related materials (the “Services”), including 4C Foundations and other 4C Framework™ course offerings delivered through Thinkific.

By purchasing, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

1) What this is and what it isn’t

The Services are an educational program (therapist-designed, coaching-informed). They are not psychotherapy, not medical care, and not a substitute for therapy, counselling, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment from a licensed professional.

The Services are not monitored for emergencies. If you are in crisis or need urgent help, contact local emergency services or a crisis line in your area.

2) Eligibility (18+)

You must be at least 18 years old to purchase or use the Services. By purchasing, enrolling, or accessing the Services, you represent and attest that you meet this requirement.

3) Your account and access

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity under your account. You agree not to share your account access with others.

Foundations access (“lifetime access”)

Your purchase of 4C Foundations includes access for as long as the course remains available on our learning platform (“lifetime access”).

We may update, improve, reorganize, or replace course content over time. If we ever stop hosting 4C Foundations or materially change access, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice and a comparable alternative (for example, a migrated version of the course), but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access in all circumstances.

We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms.

4) Purchases, pricing, and taxes

Prices are shown at checkout. Applicable taxes may be added based on your location and the checkout configuration.

All purchases are one-time purchases unless a subscription or payment plan is explicitly offered at checkout.

5) Refund policy (Foundations)

To request a refund, email [email protected] from the email address used at checkout within 7 days of purchase.

Subject line: Refund Request – Foundations – [Your email used at checkout]

In your email, please include:

  1. Full name on the order

  2. Email used at checkout

  3. Date of purchase (approximate is OK)

  4. If available, your order number

  5. A brief reason for the request (optional, 1–2 sentences)

Refunds are available only if you have not completed Module 1 of the course (as shown in our course progress reporting). After 7 days, we do not provide refunds except where required by law.

If a refund is issued, your access to the course and any downloads may be removed.

We aim to respond to refund requests within 2 business days.

6) Intellectual property and permitted use

All intellectual property rights in and to the 4C Framework™, the Services, and all related content, downloads, exercises, audio, text, worksheets, templates, and other materials (the “Materials”) are owned exclusively by After the Storm Recovery Ltd.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to access and use the Materials for your personal use only, solely as needed to participate in the Services.

You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, record, republish, upload, post, transmit, or distribute the Materials

  • Share downloads outside your household

  • Sell, sublicense, or create derivative works from the Materials

  • Use the Materials to run your own program, workshop, course, or group

  • Remove copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices

We may seek injunctive or equitable relief for misuse of our intellectual property.

7) Confidentiality and your responsibility when entering information

We take confidentiality seriously. However, you are responsible for what you choose to submit, type, or share in any forms or fields.

Do not enter identifying or highly sensitive information

Some course activities ask you to enter check-in totals (numbers only) in Thinkific. Other activities may include embedded questionnaires (for example, questionnaires about anxiety, mood, or well-being) delivered through a third-party form provider.

To protect your privacy, please do not enter identifying information (such as your address or phone number) or detailed personal history into any course fields or forms. Use your private downloads for deeper personal reflections.

Third-party tools

The Services may include third-party tools (such as embedded form providers). These tools are provided “as available” and operate under their own terms and security practices. We choose reputable providers and limit what we collect, but we cannot guarantee the security of third-party systems.

8) Live sessions, community, and future tiers

Some offerings may include live sessions, community spaces, or facilitated elements. If you participate, you agree to additional rules (including community guidelines and safety boundaries). Live or community elements are not crisis services and do not create a therapist-client relationship.

9) Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, or abuse others

  • Attempt to access other users’ accounts or data

  • Interfere with the platform’s operation

  • Use the Services in a way that violates applicable law

10) Disclaimers (no warranties)

The Services and Materials are provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no guarantees, representations, or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding outcomes or results.

11) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • After the Storm Recovery Ltd. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages.

  • Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid for the applicable course in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

12) Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless After the Storm Recovery Ltd. and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, and licensors from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Services, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of law.

13) Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the Services at any time. Sections related to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law survive termination.

14) Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The most current version will be posted on our site. Changes apply going forward from the effective date.

15) Governing law and forum

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

Any legal suit, action, or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services must be brought in the courts of British Columbia, and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.
