This Privacy Policy describes how After the Storm Recovery Ltd. (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information in connection with our website and online courses delivered through Thinkific (the “Services”).

We are committed to protecting personal information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy laws, including British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where applicable, PIPEDA.

Quick privacy note

We design course activities to be as private as possible. Some exercises are meant to be completed privately using downloads. Some activities use embedded questionnaires. Please avoid entering identifying information or personal details beyond what a questionnaire asks.

1) What we collect

A) Information you provide on Thinkific

  • Account information (e.g., name, email address, login credentials)

  • Purchase and transaction information (e.g., products purchased, price paid, taxes, payment status)

  • Course participation information (e.g., enrollment, progress/completion signals, lesson completion)

  • Check-in totals you enter in-course (numbers only) (for example, a numeric total you type into a course field)

Important note about text fields: Some course fields may accept free text for practical reasons. Our intent for check-ins on Thinkific is numbers only. Please do not enter identifying details or sensitive personal information in these fields.

B) Embedded forms and questionnaires

Some course activities include embedded forms (for example, questionnaires about well-being, anxiety, or mood). These may be delivered through a third-party form provider (for example, Jotform).

When you complete an embedded questionnaire, we collect the responses you submit through the form. Depending on the form design, this may include:

  • your selected responses to questionnaire items

  • totals or scoring outputs (if displayed or calculated)

  • any optional fields included on the form

Please do not include identifying information (such as your full name, address, phone number, or other identifying details) or detailed personal history in any free-text fields. If you want to reflect more deeply, use your private downloads.

C) Information collected automatically

When you access the Services, we and our service providers may automatically collect:

  • Device and browser information

  • IP address

  • Approximate location (derived from IP, not precise location)

  • Log information (pages viewed, timestamps, referral URLs)

2) How we use personal information

We use personal information to:

  • Comply with legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations

  • Respond to inquiries and support requests

3) Service providers

We use third-party service providers to host the course platform, process payments, deliver emails, and support embedded forms and questionnaires. These providers process personal information on our behalf under their own terms and security practices.

We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers and to limit the personal information we collect. However, no platform is perfect. To protect your privacy, please do not submit identifying information or sensitive personal details into course fields or forms beyond what is required.

4) Where information is stored and processed

Our courses are hosted on Thinkific, and payments are processed through Thinkific Payments.

Embedded questionnaires may be delivered through a third-party form provider (for example, Jotform). Depending on the provider and our account settings, information you submit may be stored or processed in Canada and/or other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.

  • respond to suspected risk to a child or other vulnerable person

  • comply with applicable law, regulation, or a valid legal process

6) Confidentiality and security

We protect personal information with commercially reasonable safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, which may include administrative, technical, and physical measures.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You can help protect your confidentiality by:
